Christian Aid’s five-year campaign against unfair EU trade deals has reached a crucial stage.
Email Europe's new trade commissioner, Baroness Ashton, and help us secure the right for poor countries to use trade to beat poverty.

How you can help
The fight against the EU’s economic partnership agreements (or EPAs) has been a long one.
Thanks in part to the pressure from our supporters, a series of European governments have indicated they are willing in principle to revise the African and Pacific agreements that were signed in December 2007.
Now we have to get these revisions signed, sealed and delivered.
What we are calling for
We want the new European trade commissioner, Baroness Ashton, to make sure poor countries:
• are able to review the impact EPAs have on growth, income and jobs
• are allowed to protect selected industries – and increase tariffs on imports where necessary
• are not pressured into service liberalisation
Our pressure has put renegotiation back on the agenda. Let’s keep it up.
