Your church

There’s no doubt Christians want to end poverty and injustice around the world.

Getting your church involved through Christian Aid is a great way to do this.

Just for starters

The quick way to get started is by emailing your details to active@christian-aid.org.

In return, three times a year we’ll send you ideas for simple but effective ways to involve your church in giving, praying and taking action to eradicate poverty.

In the meantime, we’ve plenty of ideas to be getting on with…

Have fun, raise cash

Organising a fun event to raise money is a perfect way to get your whole church involved.

From tried and tested favourites such as cake sales, concerts, and sponsored walks, to the more weird and wonderful likes of pyjama parties, sponsored shaves and murder mystery evenings, churches have done it all for Christian Aid.

You can do it, too. Don’t forget to involve as many people as you can – some are probably just waiting to be asked.

Speak out, take action

Raising money is vital, but why stop there? At Christian Aid we believe that, to tackle poverty, we have to change the way the world works.

You and your church can have a real impact by campaigning with us. Together you can add your voices to thousands of others and demand serious action from the people in power on issues like climate change, tax dodging and unfair trade rules.

Get down on your knees

Praying together for an end to global poverty is at the heart of a church’s concern for the world.

On our Surefish website, we have daily readings and reflections that offer a biblical perspective on the work we do, as well as related actions and prayers.

'Pray as though everything depended on God. Work as though everything depended on you.' St Augustine

Make the most of Christian Aid Week

Christian Aid Week is the most amazing opportunity to show that your church cares about the world outside its walls – and give your community a chance to play its part.

You could hold an event or go house-to-house with the red envelopes. Whatever you do, you’ll be at the heart of a remarkable fundraising movement, raising millions of pounds for work with poor communities across the world.
